It is about 152 cm high. It is collected in the National Museum of Rome, the Vatican Museum and the Terme Museum. It was originally made of bronze by millon in about 450 BC. The original work has been lost and is now a reproduction. It is one of the most famous sculptures in the West.

The athlete holds the discus in his right hand to the highest point, the whole body center of gravity falls on his right foot, the left toe is against the ground, the knee is bent into an obtuse angle, and the whole body has a feeling of intense explosive force and elasticity. The body shape is tense, but in the overall structure processing, as well as the expression of the head, it gives the impression of calm and steady, which is exactly what the classical style pursues.
